Siemens Industry is an international manufacturer based in Germany. Their products cover a massive range including industrial automation, scientific equipment, and home appliances. For more than twenty years they have been using Spectra Symbol’s sensors in their line of fume hoods, an essential piece of lab equipment that contains dangerous fumes and pulls them out of the lab. Our sensor detects how far the fume hood door is open and controls airflow to make sure no fumes escape into the lab.
The sensors are some of the largest one-shot parts we make, the longest running up to 86 inches! These parts are very challenging to produce - they require our largest screen printer, special test equipment, and a great deal of skill and patience. Next time you see these being produced give a thumbs up to our teammates on Line 3 for their great work!
The Great Game of Business creates an environment in which you can appeal to people’s best instincts, in which you ask them to rise above the day-to-day frustrations, and use all of their intelligence, ingenuity, and resourcefulness to help each other reach common goals. Ironically, it is also when employees are happiest and most productive.
Excess inventory can be a cost of poor quality because it represents an inefficient use of resources. When a company produces more products than it can sell or store, it ends up with excess inventory that takes up valuable warehouse space and ties up capital. This excess inventory can lead to increased holding and carrying costs, such as rent, utilities, insurance, and labor. Additionally, if the inventory becomes outdated or obsolete, the company may have to write it off as a loss.
Excess inventory can be a sign of poor quality if it is the result of defects or errors in the manufacturing process. For example, if a company produces products with high defect rates, it may have to produce more products than it needs to meet customer demand, resulting in excess inventory. This excess inventory can be costly to the company and may harm its reputation if it is unable to meet customer demand for new or improved products.
Therefore, excess inventory can be considered a cost of poor quality because it represents waste and inefficiency in the manufacturing process and can result from defects or errors in the product design or production process.
